Mekatz to Oberstdorf
In a landscape like a fairy tale we walk through small valleys, cross narrow creeks,
see the typical cattle and farms, chapels and crosses like giant crucifixes. And
the beer you will get completes your positive impressions.
The hike will
last for 4 days. The distance between Simmerberg and Diepolz ist 27 km. Normally
we will walk this in one day but we also can make this in two days. Meckatz
— Weiler Simmerberg  We
start our hike at the Löwenbrauerei in Meckatz
with a typical dinner and the fine beers of the Meckatzer Brauerei. After that
we will visit the brewery and we will see how they make the Löwenbräu.
 On
the first 12 km from Meckatz to Weiler we begin the training for our long walk.
In Weiler we will get the beers oft the Postbrauerei
and a bit to eat. After that we will go to Simmerberg
and to the inn of the Aktienbräu. There we
will have an adequate meal and the beer from the Aktienbräu. After that i
will inform you about our tour.
Weiler Simmerberg
— Diepolz  We
start in Simmerberg after the breakfast and walk
through the pre-alpin area with its hills, creeks, small villages and chapels.
On this stage of the tour we have several ascents with 200 m difference in height
and a few kilometers before Diepholz we climb
up for 350 m. In Diepolz there is the Brauerei
Schäffler, where we will eat, taste their beer and rest for the night.
From Simmerberg to Diepolz is a distance of 27 km. If
you want, we can divide this section up into two parts.
Diepolz
— Rettenberg   After
the start in Diepolz we walk down to Immenstadt.
Southwards we can see the Alpsee, a very nice
lake, and the alps in the background. After Immenstadt we climb up a small hill
and reach Rettenberg. In Rettenberg
they have two breweries. First we go to the Engelbrauerei
where we will have a meal and taste their beers.

— Sonthofen  After
the beer tasting in the Engelbrauerei we go to the Adlerbrauerei
where we will have another beer test. After that we will have an easy way down
to Sonthofen.
 From
Diepolz to Sonthofen we have walked 21 km. In Sonthofen
we will go to the Hirschbrauerei. There we will
test their beer and their kitchen.
 Sonthofen
— Oberstdorf
 We
start our hike in Sonthofen at an altitude of
740 m above sealevel and go to the Gaisalpe at
an altitude of 1150 m. There we will have a stop and a meal. Then we will
pass the Mount Rubihorn down to Oberstdorf.
From Sonthofen to Oberstdorf is a distance of 12
km. In Oberstdorf we will end our tour
in the Dampfbierbrauerei, where we will test their
beers and have a typical meal.
